This episode is a sermon/talk that I delivered on Sunday the 27th of July at our church, Grace Bible Church, here in Dunedin, New Zealand.
I was asked to preach on Mark 13, the Olivet Discourse. Yes, the whole thing. In one sermon. That meant I had to be pretty simplistic about it, and I couldn’t go into a huge amount of depth. It was an introductory talk to an audience that had never really looked at the issue before (at least, it had never been spoken about in church). So basically, it’s an introduction to Mark 13, and therefore an introduction to preterism.

and, WOW, they’re cool with an annihilationist preaching?, that does come as a surprise for a (Reformed, I believe?) Church.

Hey folks. Yes Andy, they are Reformed in outlook, and they have no problem with an annihilationist preaching (and of course, I’e made them aware of my views). Perhaps if they thought they had an obvious biblical response they’d put me in my place.

We do allow Glenn to preach at Grace. He is very good and has agreed not to push his views that we would disagree on. We don’t hold to his view on annihilationism for what I believe are biblical reasons. I personally am not totally convinced by the preterist view of Mark 13, but many in the reformed camp are. Glenn did a great job of presenting the material, and was recieved well, the 50minutes seemed to go in no time. Thanks Glenn.
